Approach

My treatment approach is a collaborative in that ultimate goals are being discussed and identified with the clients. Ultimate goals are goals that individual clients/parents value to increase the quality of their lives. An example of a goal could be to have better sleeping schedule for the entire family. It could also be to go on a family trip without worrying about what is going to happen if your child engages in tantrum. It could also be both above and more. The immediate goals and treatment plan are then identified to attain the ultimate goal.

I utilize evidence-based, data driven interventions that help clients and parents learn how to take action in their lives in order to achieve the outcomes they are looking for. More specifically, I integrate Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure Therapy, based on my client’s personal needs and treatment goals. In the current environment, parents are challenged like no other with factors including work, caring for children and/or family members, supporting children with school work, maintaining safety and wellbeing of self and family, and managing difficult emotions. Parents are asked to wear many hats all at the same time, and this may appear unattainable to many. I specialize in working with individuals and parents so that they can identify problem at hand, work to decrease challenging behaviors while increasing appropriate behaviors and as a result, increasing overall well-being for each family members.
